Actor Owen Wilson (The Wedding Crashers, Zoolander, The Royal Tenenbaums) is promoting his latest film, a thriller, No Escape. He plays the lead, Jack Dwyer, an American who relocates to southeast Asia for a new job. He brings his wife (Lake Bell) and two young daughters. When a violent civil war breaks, the Dwyer family (being Westerners) become targets. Pierce Brosnan plays a company man who helps them escape.
During a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Wilson commented on parenthood and daughters. “I think I would like to have a daughter,” he said. In real life, Wilson is the father of two young boys. He went on about daughters: “I think it would be very interesting. Just having been around so much male energy my whole life: one of three boys, went to an all-boy school, then military school, now two sons, never been married.” The mother of Wilson’s four-year-old son Robert is ex-girlfriend Jade Duell. The mother of his second son, one-year-old Finn, is personal trainer Caroline Lindqvist. They are not in relationship. With the help of actress Lake Bell, Wilson plays a convincing father of two girls in No Escape, which opens August 26.
