If standup magician Derek Hughes on America’s Got Talent looks familiar to you, there’s good reason. He’s been on TV before, lots of times. He’s appeared as the Magic Clerk on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, as the celebrity magic coach on VH1’s Celebracadabra, and on Comedy Central’s Gong Show.

When not on TV or on stage at the Magic Castle in Hollywood, you might find Hughes acting. He played Logan on the sitcom Grown Ups opposite Jaleel White, and appeared in Adam Sandler’s film Mr. Deeds as well as the indie film Audie and the World. He’s most recent act is called INSOMNIA! which is loosely inspired by the short stories of Jorge Luis Borges
