On Grimm, Nick’s mother Kelly was long thought to be dead. But now she’s back. She said she always loved Nick but “disappeared in order to keep him out of harm’s way for as long as possible.” Kelly is on a mission to rid the world of Wesen. She’s an old-school Grimm. She can’t believe that her son is friends with some Wesens.
Kelly Burkhardt is portrayed by Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio. She’s best known for her roles as Mary Kincaid in the TV mini-series Hostages, Captain Zoe Callas on Law & Order: Criminal Intent, Anne Cassidy on Without a Trace. Mastrantonio has also starred in plenty of blockbuster movies including Scarface (Gina), The Color of Money (Carmen), The Abyss (Lindsey Brigman), Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves (Marian), and The Perfect Storm (Linda Greenlaw). Grimm airs Fridays at 9pm on NBC.
