Carolyn Jansen was 43 when she was last heard from in 2003. Her roommate at the time, Jon David Harrington, killed her and kept her remains in a white Rubbermaid container. Harrington carted around the container for two years. In 2005, another roommate discovered the container on the back porch in the Aurora, Colorado home that they shared. The roommate called the police. The remains were identified as Jansen’s. Harrington was a suspect from the beginning but investigators said it was a challenge to establish a case against him.
The Arapahoe County District Court hopes Harrington’s case will go to trial later this year. The cold case of Carolyn Jansen will be featured on Cold Justice on May 8, 8pm on TNT.
