When not hobnobbing with the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, actor Richard Gere is still making movies. He will soon arrive at The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel (for the Elderly and Beautiful) to join actors Dev Patel, Maggie Smith and Judi Dench for the sequel film.
Gere will also star in Franny, a 90-minute drama about an aging addict/philanthropist trying to recreate the life he once had by meddling in the lives of a newly-married couple (Theo James and Dakota Fanning). Franny is written and directed by 30-year-old Andrew Renzi who describes Franny as “part Scent of a Woman, part Leaving Las Vegas, part Cable Guy.” Renzi won acclaim at the 2014 Tribeca Film Festival for his documentary Fishtail about Tylee Aboott, an art dealer in Montana who also raises calves.
