Banjoist and singer Ellen Petersen is incredibly nervous and excited to perform on ‘American Idol’ onWedesnday, January 14. Her family has a bluegrass band. They started performing together about seven years ago. “It a blast,” says Ellen.
But is the 22-year-old ready to make the transition from bluegrass festivals and churches to the audition room of ‘American Idol’? We’ll see. Ellen has some stiff competition from the likes of guitarist Kohlton Pascal and accordion player Joey Cook.
