Actor Woody Harrelson (Cheers, The Hunger Games) hosted Saturday Night Live on November 15, 2014. During his monologue he brought up that the last time he hosted SNL was 25 years ago — it was 1989. Pop diva Taylor Swift’s latest album is 1989—noting the year she was born. Harrelson announced he knew more about the year than Swift so he picked up a guitar and started to sing about his memories. He was on Cheers, back then, America’s most popular sitcom, maybe ever.
During the song, Harrelson’s young Hunger Games co-stars come out including Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, and Jennifer Lawrence. Harrelson pretends to confuse Lawrence with Swift. Lawrence makes a reference to all the pot Harrelson smokes, which she implies has affected his brain. We wish he had smoked more before showing up on set, to make it a funnier exchange.
