Maybe Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade weren’t enough to keep LeBron James in South Beach. But those guys know to cut to the basket. As the wayward, losing superstar Cleveland combination went down to yet another ignominious loss against the Raptors (110-93), James missed the way Bosh and Wade cut hard to the basket. Right there in the middle of an NBA game, James sounded like so many guys who played in high school trying to navigate a rec league. Why doesn’t anybody cut?! That’s what basketball is all about. That’s the beauty of it.
Especially if you have LeBron James, dummies (he seems to say). Because I draw attention from the whole defense and you can just waltz to wherever you want–cut! Everybody’s looking at me–cut! And the crazy thing is everybody wants points and touches, and LeBron is that rare superstar looking to accommodate those desires. But still the Cavaliers don’t cut.
