The highly anticipated trailer for Furious 7 is out. Fast & Furious star Michelle Rodriguez was asked on the red carpet at the amfAR LA Inspiration Gala what she thought her late co-star Paul Walker would have thought of the trailer. (Walker died in a single-car accident in November 2013.) She had to swallow hard before answering the question. She eventually said he would be proud.
You don’t have to be a Furious fan to be impressed with the stunts and special effects featured in the trailer. Cars parachute out of a plane and land perfectly on the road! It is bittersweet to see Paul Walker alive, clearly enjoying his day at work driving fast cars and jumping onto a racing bus to save a girl, but he doesn’t steal the limelight. Nor do Michelle Rodriguez, Vin Diesel or The Rock — who does come close. After watching the trailer, what lingers most is the music. The song “Get Low” by DJ Snake and Dillon Francis is spot on for the action and emotion. DJ Snake is the Frenchman who produced Lady Gaga’a Born This Way album, which earned him a Grammy. Sounds like he’s going to win another.
