“Let’s get this shit started” was the rally cry of David Spade/aka Joe Dirt on the first day of shooting the “much-anticipated” sequel: Joe Dirt 2: Beautiful Loser. The original film, Joe Dirt, premiered in 2001. The story of the “white trash anti-hero” struck a chord and went on to become a cult hit.
Spade, has been posting photos of himself in character with the trademark mullet and sideburns on Instagram, celebrating the making of the movie in party-animal fashion. The storyline in the first movie, according to the Inquistir, “follows a somewhat pitiful redneck un-affectionately named Joe Dirt by his parents. Early in life, the site further explains, Joe is abandoned by his family at the Grand Canyon and spends the majority of the movie telling the tale of his attempt to track them down on a morning radio show.” Joe Dirt 2: Beautiful Loser will be released on Sony’s digital streaming site, Crackle, in 2015. It’s not expected to stray too far from what delighted loyal fans in the first one.
