Are you a sweet, sex-starved man? And if you are, did you sleep with Sinead O’Connor? The Irish singer, who famously took out a personal ad looking for an ideal companion (men named Brian or Nigel would not be considered; Robert Downey Jr. would be given ‘special consideration’) has signed a deal with Penguin to write her autobiography, and she is getting ready to reveal all. “I’ve never stopped expressing myself in my music, and now, with a book,” she said in a news release. “And I look forward to dishing the sexual dirt on everyone I’ve ever slept with.”
The book, to be published in March 2016 by Blue Rider Press, is as yet untitled, and according to the publisher’s press release, will “cover the singer’s turbulent upbringing in Ireland; her breakout as an artist with 1987’s The Lion and the Cobra and her nine subsequent albums; her controversial opinions and actions, as well as her personal and musical struggles and triumphs, through the present day.” Presumably readers will finally get the full story on her bust-up with Prince, her 18-day marriage to Barry Herridge (he responded to the ad, so he must have been sweet and sex-starved), and the infamous SNL appearance. Oh, and her love of lesbians and anal sex.
