La Toya Jackson of the OWN reality TV show Life with La Toya got engaged. Her boyfriend Jeffré Phillips (producer of Life with La Toya and the TV movie documentary ‘Michael Jackson and Bubbles: The Untold Story’) proposed with a 17.5 carat diamond ring. Jackson, 58, told People magazine she’s planning to have a massive on-camera wedding (bigger than Kim Kardashian’s!) and mentioned she always wanted to be a mother.
In other big ring celebrity news, Canadian singer/songwriter Avril Lavigne, 29, accepted a 17 carat ring from her husband of one year, Nickelback front man Chad Kroeger. Together they’re net worth is $110 million (she $50M, he $60M). A 17 carat diamond ring costs about $2.5 million. That’s some blood diamond for a skater girl.
