Jeremy Lin is having a good season in Charlotte, doing everything well except — so far — knocking down his shots. Lin worked even more furiously than usual on his shot this summer and it’s frustrating that the shots aren’t falling for him. Yet.
But Lin’s getting great looks, taking care of the ball well and putting up the intangible stats that have helped the Hornets reach 9-7 after a slow start. His minutes are increasing, despite his shooting woes. Lin’s getting into the paint, rebounding, playing strong defense and spreading the floor. His whole season so far is encapsulated in the play below, as Lin shakes and crosses over LeBron James, getting himself a shot in rhythm that should be an easy knockdown for him. He misses it, but the whole play looks like a sign of good things to come. It’s Jeremy Lin playing with great confidence and a Curry-flavored handle — he just needs to find the bottom of the net. Tellingly, Lin’s teammates are up off the bench while the shot’s in the air, confident it’s going down.
