Self-described “rabble rouser” Meghan McCain used her influential social media platform to amplify a comic idea that she and her husband must have casually discussed over dinner — an American invasion of Canada.
The daughter of the late war hero and U.S. Senator John McCain is married to conservative writer and media personality Ben Domenech, who wrote up the presumably tongue-in-cheek invasion idea stirred by the smoke from Canadian wildfires polluting the air over American cities like Chicago.
Domenech, an accomplished writer, appears to be exercising his satirist muscles, as his “full hawk” plan includes the exile of Canadian President Justin Trudeau to his “native Cuba” and the seizing of the occupied country’s oil, echoing some of the hallmark ideas of previous controversial American military aggressions.
McCain’s share quadruples the reach of Domenech’s idea, pushing it out to her nearly 800K Twitter followers.
Ready to go full hawk on Canada over these goddang fires. Invade 100 miles north and we own the entirety of America's hat. Take Alberta's oil. Deport Trudeau to exile in his native Cuba. Fires out in a week.

Domenech and McCain both have OG GOP bona fides — her father ran for President, in addition to his myriad other accomplishments, and Domenech’s father, Douglas Domenech, held multiple high-level positions in the George W. Bush and the Donald Trump administrations.
McCain often retweets without comment, as she does here. McCain evidently determined that Domenech’s concise plan needs no further explication.
