In the Blue Bloods episode ‘Family Matters,’ while NYPD Detectives Danny Reagan (Donnie Wahlberg) and Baez (Marisa Ramirez) investigate a case of grand larceny tied to feuding crime families when the gifts are stolen during a mob wedding, Police Commissioner Frank Reagan (Tom Selleck) clashes with Mayor Chase (Dylan Walsh) when an influx of immigrants arrive in the city.
As in real life, particularly in New York City, the influx of immigrants is not an easy puzzle to solve. In the sneak peek video below, Frank complains to his staff, “I can’t take officers off the streets and post them in these encampments for the mayor’s political gain.”
Watch and listen to Baker (Abigail Hawk) rip into Frank and explain that this is more about the mayor’s ambition. She suggests that the Commissioner talk about the city being a beacon of hope and refuge and “you just can’t get in the weeds with your put upon police force.” The room falls silent. Fans of the show and of the Baker character love the clip. As one replied: “You go, girl!”
When not playing Baker, Hawk occasionally gets dressed up as seen below in a stunning, backless dress by Zac Posen. She reports that she bought it in 2020 and recently rediscovered it in her closet. “It still fits like a dream!” Fans agree.
