Former boxing champion Oscar de la Hoya came out of retirement to face-off against former UFC champion Vitor Belfort in the main event of a Triller Fight Club card. The fight was scheduled for September 11, 2021 at Staples Center in Los Angeles. But de la Hoya, who retired in 2008, had to pull out: he’s in the hospital being treated for a breakthrough case of COVID-19. See videos below.
Triller has announced that 58-year-old former heavyweight champion boxer Evander Holyfield will take de la Hoya’s place. Holyfield last competed in the ring in 2011 but he looks ready now — see photo below.
