Beyonce and Jay Z attended the Super Bowl, you many have heard! Jay Z, of course, works with the NFL — and part of his gig with them, ostensibly to improve the league’s race relations, is to run the Super Bowl halftime show. It was a big hit with fans, with Jennifer Lopez and Shakira delivering on a promise to make the show fun, lively and apolitical.
But it didn’t stay apolitical for Jay Z and Beyonce. The power couple — even though they are in bed with the NFL — kept one foot sticking out of the blankets and firmly planted on Colin Kaepernick floor: Beyonce and Jay Z stayed seated for the National Anthem.
Beyonce didn’t address the issue on Instagram, where she is among the world’s most popular figures. Instead she posted some photos of herself in a dynamite-looking green power suit that has cleavage to make Jennifer Lopez blush!
A good number of the comments were from haters who disliked her stand — by refusing to stand — against the National Anthem. But Beyonce just keeps traveling her own lane and so far it’s working for her. Nearly four million people liked the post, though naysayers sounded like this:
“Really y’all Rich self righteous out of touch with normal humans couldn’t even stand up for the damn anthem? What are you teaching your child? That the world is so cruel to you and your family and y’all are so oppressed.”
