Boston Celtics point guard Kemba Walker has — how shall we put it? — struggled against NBA superstar LeBron James-led teams in the past. Going into the latest Celtics-Lakers game, Kemba was exactly 0-for-28 against James. But that didn’t stop the loud and charming prognosticator Charles Barkley from “guaranteeing” that Kemba’s losing streak would end…and that LeBron James would lose.
And Charles didn’t even know that Kemba’s Celtics teammate Jalen Brown was going to deliver this hammer over King James during the game:
Now, Charles is a smart guy and he knows you don’t make a good living betting against LeBron James-led teams. Don’t expect him to do it again any time soon.
But with Anthony Davis playing only 22 minutes and the parquet floor of Boston providing an edge, the Chuckster — as Barkley is sometimes affectionately known — did get the last chuckle on this guarantee. Boston pummeled Los Angeles 139-107.
