NFL quarterback Daniel Jones is making a big splash in the league with the New York Giants. The 22-year-old from Charlotte, North Carolina played college football at Duke before being drafted by the Giants in the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft.
On September 17, against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Jones became the first Giants rookie quarterback to win his first career start since Scott Brunner in 1980. Now he faces multiple Super Bowl champion Tom Brady and the New England Patriots at Gillette Stadium (Thursday, October 10, 8 pm on FOX).
Some Giants fans are surprised, and some are disappointed, that their new quarterback is relatively quiet on social media. His profile on Twitter still reads Duke QB and features a photo of him in his Blue Demons uniform!
Jones joined Instagram in November 2018 and has posted exactly five times. His most recent post was in July and it doesn’t even feature him: it’s a video of fellow Giant, Super Bowl champ Golden Tate playing golf in Northern Ireland. Jones currently has 192k followers. He’ll need to share more than that to compete with Brady and his 6.6 million followers on Instagram! (Good news is Brady is a relative newcomer to social media, too.)
