On the Season 8 premiere of Basketball Wives, Shaquille O’Neal’s ex-wife Shaunie O’Neal deals with their 6’9 son Shareef needing to have open heart surgery. During a routine checkup to get cleared to play college basketball at UCLA, the doctors discovered he had a right anomalous coronary artery which grows in the wrong place.
The good news is that Shareef has recovered from the surgery and is taking his recovery seriously. Check out Shareef — who is not suited up — mopping the basketball court.
“What I do on my off days,” the tall teen wrote to accompany his mop up photo. He’s currently playing in the DREW League in Los Angeles, where experienced players hone their skills and stay in shape during the off-season.
