Mega movie star Tom Hanks says the last few pages of the final script for Toy Story — which the viewing public will see play out this summer as Toy Story 4 hits theaters — were very tough. Hanks got a head’s up from co-star Tim Allen, who plays Buzz Lightyear in the franchise. (Hanks is Woody the cowboy, in case somehow you missed it.)

Allen saw the script before Hanks and was deeply moved, Hanks reports. Hanks humorously air-quotes “The Astronaut” when describing Allen’s character in a clip on Ellen. Then Hanks — always a first-rate mimic — gruffly imitates Allen as Allen would voice his concerns — via text! — about the script. “Wait till you see those last pages. Tough one, tough one,” Allen told Hanks. “And they were,” Hanks realized when he finally went in to record his parts. “We were saying goodbye to Woody and Buzz and Bonnie’s room and Andy and everybody. And it was emotional.”
