It’s down to the Top 13 artists on Season 16 of The Voice. Only five of them are women. On Team Adam is Mari (he only has two left); Team Legend is Maelyn Jarmon and Celia Babini, and on Team Blake — there’s Kim Cherry and Oliv Blu. Season 15 champion coach Kelly Clarkson does not have a female singer in the finals. Her remaining two are Jej Vinson and Rod Stokes.

Jej is the Philippines-born 22-year-old college student (USC) who killed the Khalid and Normani song “Love Lies” last week. For his Live Top 13 performance, Jej is singing the Nick Jonas song “Close”. The 2016 love song was nominated for a Teen Choice Award for Choice Music: Love Song, among others.
The Nick Jonas version features the voice of Swedish singer Tove Lo. Jonas said the song is “about how I literally can’t open up and be vulnerable with someone.” Clearly, that was before Jonas met his wife, actress Priyanka Chopra. The Voice airs Mondays and Tuesdays at 8 pm on NBC.
