Country singer Carter Lloyd Horne has made it to the Top 13 on Season 16 of The Voice. The 20-year-old member of Team Blake from Marietta, isn’t going to try to fix something that ain’t broke. Throughout The Voice competition he’s been singing classic country songs including “Heartbreak Hotel” and “Drinkin’ Problem.” For his Top 13 live performance, Carter Lloyd Horne sings the George Strait song “Let It Go” which Strait co-wrote with his son Bubba Strait and Keith Gattis (Dwight Yoakam’s band leader/lead electric guitarist). It’s on Strait’s 2015 album Cold Beer Conversation.
Cold Beer Conversation is Strait’s 29th studio album. It reached No. 1 on the Top Country Albums chart in its second week, making it the King of Country’s 26th No. 1 on the chart. At the time of the album’s release, Strait told Rolling Stone magazine: “I’m inspired to make music all the time. There’s no particular inspiration for this record, other than going out and making the best record I can make.” The Voice airs Mondays and Tuesdays at 8 pm on NBC.
