After a fun time in Hawaii, the Top 20 contestants of American Idol are back in Los Angeles getting ready to perform their solo performances in front of judges Katy Perry, Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan. That includes Walker Burroughs, the 20-year-old college student who’s studying at Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee to become a music teacher. Other notable singers/songwriters out of Belmont include country singers Brad Paisley, Lee Ann Womack, and Trisha Yearwood. In the video below, shot last year on the Belmont campus, Burroughs says, “I guess in ten years, I can realistically say, I’ll be a choir director somewhere, which is really exciting and something I hoped to do at some point in my life.” He admits putting out music as a career one day would be great, too.

For his solo performance, Burroughs is singing The Bee Gees 1977 song “How Deep Is Your Love.” It’s say to assume he’s singing the ballad to his girlfriend, who inspired him to write his single “The Moon Song.” See single above and interview/video below.
