The judges of American Idol — Katy Perry, Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan — will recognize two familiar faces on the fourth night of auditions for Season 2 on March 17. Separately, teenagers Isaac Streetman from Georgia and Alyssa Raghu from Orlando, Florida are auditioning again for the show. Alyssa’s first audition has been viewed close to 7 million times on YouTube (see below). A lot has happened to the two young and talented musicians. Isaac is engaged and about to become a dad. Alyssa has been named Global Citizen Youth Ambassador of the World Heritage Cultural Center (WHCC).
Two days before Alyssa’s latest audition on American Idol, she announced the news on social media. She wrote: “Coming from a diverse background, Mexican and Indian, I’m honored to be part of the World Heritage Cultural Center.” Her first project as Youth Ambassador is going to Ireland and working with the descendants of one of the Irish Royal Families, the O’Reilly’s, to help with their mission of reviving the Celtic Culture.
For her first American Idol audition, Alyssa sang the Ariana Grande song “Almost Is Never Enough” and got emotional afterwards. The video has more than 6.9 million views (see below). American Idol airs Sundays at 8 pm on ABC, right before Shark Tank.
Before American Idol, Alyssa released this cover of Brett Young’s “In Case You Didn’t Know”:
