On the third night of auditions for ABC’s second season of American Idol, judges Katy Perry, Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan meet Jake Puliti. Jake’s mother, Becky Whitebread, is going through radiation treatment for thyroid cancer.
[What every American Idol fan needs in their music collection!]
Jake tells his local newspaper, York Daily Record, that after graduating from high school he tried college but it wasn’t for him. While he continues “map out” his life, he spends a lot of time making and recording music with friends. They converted a chicken coop into a studio and call it Crooked Chicken Records. Jake isn’t predictable. For his audition, he puts an acoustic spin on a club song that everybody knows. Katy Perry is so moved, she does the caterpillar dance move on the ground during his audition. American Idol airs Sundays at 8 pm on ABC, right before Shark Tank which airs at 10 pm. [BONUS: Stream any ABC show through the ABC GO Digital App found here. Download is FREE.]
