On Season 5 of The Profit, investor Marcus Lemonis flew to Santa Monica, California to meet Matt Harlow, the young CEO of The Casery, a company that designs and sells $32 cellphone cases. Lemonis called Harlow “smug prick” among other things and he “hung up” on the startup. On Season 6, Lemonis meets with two former employees from The Casery, Charlotte Hennington and Skyler Milligan-Lecroy, who want to start their own business selling $29 cell phone cases, calling the business Everkin.

On The Profit, Lemonis helps the Everkin team cram to prepare for a crucial T-Mobile meeting in ten days. They are literally starting a business from scratch. So when Lemonis asks who the CEO is, and there’s hesitation, he tells them, “I think it should be Charlotte” because she’s more “even keeled” than Skyler, who becomes COO.
[NOTE: Mobile phone cases are a very crowded market]
Lemonis says, personally, he finds Charlotte would be a better fit for a big client like T-Mobile because she’s “friendlier, warmer, and a better listener.” The Profit airs Tuesdays at 10 pm on CNBC. [Related: The Profit: The Casery CEO Matt Harlow Was World Yo-Yo Champion at 16]
