In the Magnum, P.I. episode “Bad Day to be a Hero”, Magnum’s (Jay Hernandez) friend Rick (Zachary Knighton) finds himself in a tough spot. He has a crush on a woman named Toni (guest star Jamie-Lynn Sigler, The Sopranos) who owes a lot of money to local crime boss Pascale Parata (Kawika Smith). Rick helped Toni organize an illegal poker game by “pulling in whales” including Pascale. How did Rick get Pascale to the poker table? He dropped the name of his old friend Icepick, who’s in jail. After the poker game is robbed and while Rick scrambles to try to find the money, he visits his Icepick in prison. Icepick realizes he’s like a father figure to Rick, so he gives him the best advice he can.

Icepick is portrayed by Corbin Bernsen. He’s known for his roles on Psych (Shawn’s dad Henry Spencer), The Young and the Restless (Father Todd Williams), JAG (Captain Owen Sebring), The Cape (USAF Col. Henry “Bull” Eckert), and L.A. Law (divorce attorney Arnie Becker), among others. Bernsen is also well recognized for his role as third baseman Roger Dorn in the Major League movies (see video below). Magnum, P.I. airs Mondays at 9 pm on CBS, right after Happy Together and right before Bull.
