In the black-ish episode “Friends without Benefits,” while Junior (Marcus Scribner) transforms his shared room with little brother Jack (Miles Brown) into a frat house, their mother Bow (Tracee Ellis Ross) makes a new friend at work. When Bow brings her friend, Angela Strong, home and introduces her to Dre (Anthony Anderson), Dre thinks his wife has “broken bird syndrome.” Meaning, Bow has a habit of befriending people who need help.

Bow’s friend Angela is portrayed by actress Kellee Stewart. She’s currently starring in Midnight, Texas (Madonna Reed). Stewart is also known for her roles as Kim in The Soul Man, Barb on Witches of East End, Stephanie on My Boys, Courtney in the Hot Tub Time Machine movies, and as Zoe Saldana’s little sister Keisha in the 2005 film Guess Who (SEE LINK ABOVE) with Ashton Kutcher and the late great Bernie Mac. Black-ish airs Tuesdays at 9 pm on ABC, right after The Kids Are Alright and right before Splitting Up Together.
