Two married women who have talked badly about each other’s husbands walk into a church. No, it’s not a joke. Or it’s more than a joke — it’s the story-line on Married to Medicine starring Heavenly Kimes and Mariah Huq. In the episode “Bottled Up Emotions,” Heavenly asks Mariah to meet her in an empty church to talk. Mariah has reservations but agrees to meet Heavenly. As Mariah says, “I expect the worst and pray for the best.”
[Watch Season 1 of Married to Medicine, circa 2013]
Sitting in the front row of the church, Heavenly, who’s dressed in a white dress, greets Mariah (who’s dressed in black) with a high pitched voice and tells Mariah she chose a church “for me, not for you” because in a church “our conversation can’t go too far now.” Mariah sits two seats away from Heavenly who tells Mariah she been doing a lot of soul searching and decided “it’s time that I humble myself and come and talk to you.” Mariah believes that Heavenly’s effort is genuine. But when Mariah asks Heavenly what she did to offend her, Heavenly has just one word: “Lies.” When Mariah denies it (keep in mind Mariah said she had receipts on Heavenly’s husband), Heavenly tells the camera, “She’s lying in the house of God.” Married to Medicine airs Fridays at 9 pm on Bravo.
