On the Chicago Med episode “Heavy Is the Head,” Dr. Ethan Choi (Brian Tee) is faced with a tough decision when a sick boy is brought in. The situation escalates when the boy’s father (who kidnapped his son) makes a drastic, dangerous move. The father holds everyone in the hospital hostage including the new third-year medical student Elsa Curry, who just started her clinical rotation at Gaffney Chicago Medical Center.
[Check out Molly Bernard as Alison in Sully]
The know-it-all, smart but overconfident med student Elsa is portrayed by Molly Bernard. Bernard is known for her roles on Younger (Lauren Heller), Transparent (Young Shelly/Judith Light), and Alpha House (Angie Sullivan), among others. Fun fact: Bernard made her acting debut in the 2000 film Pay It Forward (her character is named Molly). Bernard will appear next on the big screen in the 2019 film Otherhood with Angela Bassett, Patricia Arquette, and Felicity Huffman. Chicago Med airs Wednesdays at 8pm on NBC, right before Chicago Fire and Chicago P.D.
