The new sitcom The Kids Are Alright is about the Irish-Catholic family, the Clearys. Husband Mike and wife Peggy are parents to eight kids — all boys. They live in a working class neighborhood outside of Los Angeles in the 1970s. Mike and Peggy are crushed when they hear their eldest son, Lawrence, plans to drop out of the seminary and not become a priest.
