The Voice is back for Season 15. During the season premiere, judges Blake Shelton, Adam Levine, Kelly Clarkson and Jennifer Hudson will listen to several blind auditions. One by 13-year-old Kennedy Holmes will blow them away. Hearing Kennedy sing the first few notes of the Adele pop ballad “Turning Tables” has Kelly Clarkson all dreamy-eyed and the audience on their feet. All four judges turn their chairs, which makes Kennedy’s father break down in tears backstage.

The song “Turning Tables,” which is about a fight with a manipulative ex-lover, was covered by actress and singer Gwyneth Paltrow, in the 2011 Glee episode “A Night of Neglect.” (see link above)
Paltrow played substitute teacher Holly Holliday who fell for glee club director Will (Matthew Morrison), who turned out to be still in love with Emma (Jayma Mays). For her Glee performance, Paltrow won an Emmy Award for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series. The Voice airs Mondays and Tuesdays at 8pm on NBC.
