Carson Wentz returns to a Super Bowl-defending Eagles team that doesn’t exactly look like one. It’d be an easier post-injury debut for the franchise QB if the Eagles defense was as staunch as last year’s version — and if it didn’t have to face Andrew Luck, who seems close to finding his form completing passes at a 72% clip this season. Problem is the Colts are giving up 73% completions.
So if Wentz seems like he won’t have a cushion of Eagles defensive dominance, he’ll still be at home with some presumably good targets to hit. Wentz will also have a team determined to make his return a positive experience.
