One of the most memorable auditions on America’s Got Talent Season 13 is performed by electric violinist Brian King Joseph. As known as “The King of Violin,” BKJ is a self-taught musician from Washington, DC. He’s been playing since he was 4 years old and has performed with giants including George Clinton & P Funkadelics and Machine Gun Kelly. On America’s Got Talent, before his performance, Brian told the judges and audience that he was diagnosed with “a serious nervous disease.” When Simon Cowell asks “How long can you go around playing the violin for?” Brian replies, “They said I wouldn’t be doing it now.” Brian uses the hashtag #neuropathy. There are more than 100 types of neuropathy, each with its own causes and symptoms. Neuropathy affects the sensory nerves, which can cause tingling, pain and numbness in the feet and hands. Treatment (medication) can help but the condition can not be cured.

While he composes and produces his own music, BKJ is also well-known for his covers. His Fetty Wap “679” medley has more than 1.4 million views (see below, download above). And his covers of Taylor Swift’s “Blank Space” and The Weeknd’s “Can’t Feel My Face” are huge hits on YouTube, where Brian King Joseph has 73,000 subscribers. New episodes of America’s Got Talent air Tuesdays at 8pm on NBC.
