On the Season 2 finale episode of MacGyver, “MacGyver + MacGyver,” Mac (Lucas Till) tries to tell Matty (Meredith Eaton) that he’s leaving the Phoenix Foundation. He tells her “I cannot work with someone I don’t trust.” But in return he receives a shocking surprise and it has something to do with a man from Matty’s history. He goes by the name Oversight. Oversight is portrayed by Tate Donovan.

Tate Donovan is known for his roles on The Man in the High Castle (George Dixon), 24: Live Another Day (Mark Boudreau), Hostages (Brian Sanders), Deception (Edward Bowers), Damages (Tom Shayes), The O.C. (Jimmy Cooper), and Friends (Rachel’s crush Joshua Burgin — Jennifer Aniston and Donovan dated in the 90s, see photo below), among others. Donovan is also recognized for his roles in two Affleck films — Manchester by the Sea with Casey Affleck (Hockey Coach) and Argo with Ben Affleck (Bob Anders), among others. MacGyver airs Fridays at 8pm on CBS, right before Hawaii Five-0.
