In the Chicago Fire episode “The One That Matters Most,” Herrmann (David Eigenberg) and the rest of House 51 struggle to come to terms with Otis being in the hospital. To make matters worse, they must also deal with the new temporary replacement, Cordova. The big man (he’s 6’3″ tall) doesn’t beat around the bush with Casey (Jesse Spender). He tells Casey with his deep voice, “I get that Otis is a blood member of the house but I’m the real deal. Once you see me in action, it’s a no-brainer.”
Cordova is portrayed by actor Damon Dayoub. Dayoub, a Texas native, is known for his roles on ABC Family’s Stitchers (Detective Quincy Fisher), Grace and Frankie (Ryan), and NCIS (Adam Eshel), among others. It’s not Dayoub’s first time playing a firefighter. He played a firefighter on an episode of Brothers & Sisters in 2011. In real life, Dayoub is married and a new dad (see cute photos below). Chicago Fire airs Thursdays at 10pm on NBC.
