In the Hawaii Five-0 episode Ka hopu nui ‘ana (The Round Up), when an FBI agent working on an organized crime case is killed, Adam Noshimuri (Ian Anthony Dale) becomes a suspect. McGarrett (Alex O’Loughlin) goes to FBI headquarters to vouch for Adam. He tells FBI Agent Fischer that Adam is a good man and that Adam has proven his loyalty to McGarrett over and over again. Fischer tells McGarrett, “That’s exactly why we didn’t come to you.” That comment rubs McGarrett the wrong way.
