In The Blacklist episode “Tommy Wattles,” Red (James Spader) continues to help Liz (Megan Boone) to find the truth and to hunt down Tom’s killers. Meanwhile the Task Force enlists the help of one arsonist to catch another. The one they want to catch is crazy Tommy Wattles (guest star Michael Rogers). He mixes an unhealthy potion of religion into his obsession with fire. The other is Earl Fagen who has just been released from the Morgantown jail.
Arsonist Earl Fagen is portrayed by C. Thomas Howell. He most recently appeared on SEAL Team (Clay’s father Ash), Ray Donovan (Dr. Brogan), Girlfriends’ Guide to Divorce (Nate), and Grimm (Weston Steward), among others. Howell is also well known for his roles in the 1980s films Soul Man (Mark), The Hitcher (Jim), Red Dawn (Robert), Francis Ford Coppola’s The Outsiders (Ponyboy Curtis), and Steven Spielberg’s E.T. (Tyler). The Blacklist airs Wednesdays at 8pm on NBC, right before Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.
