WEtv’s new reality series Love After Lockup is about six couples who met online while one of them was in prison. The cameras are there to capture the moment when the incarcerated half of each couple is released and the couple begins their life together on the outside. One of the couples is James and Alla of Chicago, Illinois. They met via a prison penpal service while Alla, a former model, was serving five years for selling heroine. At the time of filming, James has not told his family about their relationship yet.
James tells Love After Lockup that before her release he and Alla would talk a lot about philosophy. “She’s a pretty philosophical person,” says James. Will James be able to handle his “overbearing” family’s reaction? Will Alla? Love After Lockup airs Fridays at 10pm on WEtv.
