In the NCIS: Los Angeles episode “Can I Get a Witness?,” when Deeks’ (Eric Christian Olsen) former LAPD partner Lt. Bates (Patrick St. Esprit) goes missing, LAPD Detective Ellen Whiting calls Deeks to help bring the rogue cop in. She believes Bates killed a fellow police officer and is running an illegal racket. When Deeks says sardonically “we’re all in a bell jar,” Whiting orders Deeks to get in touch with Bates and convince him to turn himself in.”
[Logue played real life female hostage in Iran in Argo]
Det. Whiting is portrayed by Karina Logue. She’s known for her roles on Scream: The TV Series (Tina Hudson), Bates Motel (Audrey), The Affair (Dana Klass), Ray Donovan (Margaret), Sons of Anarchy (Nurse Toric), and True Blood (Denise Rattray), among others. Logue is also recognized for playing Elizabeth Ann Swift, one of the two women held hostage in Iran for 444 days (1979-1981), in the film Argo — see link above. Fun fact: Karina is the sister of actor Donal Logue (Det. Bullock on Gotham). NCIS: Los Angeles airs Sundays at 9:30pm on CBS, right before Madam Secretary.
