In the MacGyver episode “X-Ray + Penny,” Mac’s nemesis Murdoc (David Dastmalchian) returns. After kidnapping MacGyver (Lucas Till) and tying him up, Murdoc goes after his next victim. But of course the crafty MacGyver will use whatever’s around him (a needle and his teeth) and his wits to escape. In this episode, MacGyver fans get to meet Mac’s father aka “Oversight,” head of The Phoenix Foundation.
Oversight is portrayed by Tate Donovan. He’s known for his roles on The Man in the High Castle (George Dixon), Masters of Sex (Graham Pennington), 24: Live Another Day (Mark Boudreau), Hostages (Brian Sanders), Deception (Edward Bowers), The O.C. (Jimmy Cooper), and Friends (Rachel’s beloved Joshua), among others. MacGyver airs Fridays at 8pm on CBS.
