Preacher Lawson has a big advantage to winning America’s Got Talent, Season 12. Sure, he’s hilarious and totally entertaining and “current” as Simon Cowell likes to say, but Preacher’s ace in his pocket is that he’s the only stand-up comedian who made it to the semifinals. Seven of the 11 acts performing on Week 1 of the semifinals are singers including the Greater Works gospel choir, ventriloquist Darci Lynne Farmer, and songwriter Chase Goehring.

If you’re a big Preacher Lawson fan, you should be following him on social media. On August 29, Preacher celebrated the late Michael Jackson’s birthday (he would have been 59), by sharing a home video of 17-year-old Preacher dancing to “P.Y.T. (Pretty Young Thing)” in the kitchen. Watch below. America’s Got Talent airs Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 8pm on NBC.
