In the series premiere episode of 24: Legacy, we meet Army Ranger Eric Carter (Corey Hawkins) who returns to the U.S. after a mission to kill a terrorist. When Carter discovers that some of the identities of the Army Rangers have been compromised, he turns to Rebecca Ingram (Miranda Otto), head of CTU (Counter Terrorist Unit) for help. But ingram is no longer head of CTU, and now her husband, Senator John Donovan, is running for President of the United States.
Donovan is portrayed by Jimmy Smits (who has been president before). He’s known for his roles on Sons of Anarchy (Nero Padilla), Dexter (ADA Miguel Prado), The West Wing (President Matthew Santos), NYPD Blue (Det. Bobby Simone), and L.A Law (Victor Sifuentes), among many others. Smits is also recognized for his role as Senator Bail Organa in Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones. 24: Legacy airs Sundays at 10:30 pm on FOX.
