In the Dance Moms episode ‘Breathless in Denver’, Abby Lee Miller and the ALDC travel to Denver for a competition. Tensions are high and the moms have many complaints. Jill, mother of Kendall, says: “This is the road to the nationals, and she’s [Abby] throwing a wrench into it.” Abby is trying to incorporate the age groups for a complicated routine which Ashlee, mother of Brynn, says always ends up in a “hot mess.” Abby responds by mocking the mothers, by crying like a baby. But Abby’s mocking doesn’t hide her vulnerability for long. As one Dance Mom predicts, “She’s on the verge of a breakdown.”
When Abby does lose her cool, as predicted, she screams, “You’re Dance Mommies, you don’t understand!” before she walks out. Dance Moms airs Tuesdays at 9pm on Lifetime.
