On the Below Deck Season 4 finale episode “Shades of Ben”, before chef Ben Robinson crosses a line with Chief Stew Kate Chastain, Kate asks for deckhands Nico Scholly and Lauren Burchell to return their work shirts. When they do, she also asks them to sit down for a chat. “Nico and Lauren give me no option to give them bitch face resting code black,” she says. The term was bestowed on Kate by charter guest Dean Slover and now Kate has embraced it. “I don’t like to do, but they made me,” says Kate.
Kate informs Nico and Lauren that Captain Lee found out about the damage in the master suite (which they caused) on his own. “I don’t rat out my crew,” Kate says. Lauren admits “it was assumed” that Kate had told Captain Lee. For that, Lauren apologizes but Kate isn’t satisfied. But then again, when is she? Below Deck airs Tuesdays at 8pm on Bravo.
