In The Real Housewives of Atlanta episode ‘Another Spin Around the Block’, Phaedra Parks talks up the foundation that she started a few years ago, The Phaedra Foundation. She said she started it “when I saw a need in the community for mentorship.” Phaedra has recently been very active in the Flint, Michigan water crisis. While Phaedra talks about her involvement, images of her marching with Reverend Jesse Jackson, holding a Rainbow Push Coalition banner, are flashed on the screen (including the one below).
On The Real Housewives of Atlanta, Phaedra asks Kenya Moore for her help since she she is from Detroit and is a former Miss Michigan. When Phaedra tells Kenya she’s arranging a summer camp in partnership with the YMCA in Flint, Kenya suggests teaching the kids how to dance or teaching them “table manners”. Phaedra later says, “Kenya is as crazy as a bedbug. But at the end of the day, I can’t take away her accomplishments.” The Real Housewives of Atlanta airs Sundays at 8pm on Bravo.
