The series premiere episode of Little Women: Dallas starts with the celebration of life — the ladies gather to celebrate the birthday of the youngest in the group, Caylea Woodbury. But the show also captures the women’s real life struggles. In August, Emily Fernandez (originally of Little Women: Atlanta) lost her 3-month-old son JJ (Lontel Jahnar Johnson, Jr.) due to health complications. He was born in April.
Emily explains: “My baby was having seizures in utero and doctors believe there was a problem with the placenta. Little people pregnancies are high risk and being pregnant with a little person is even more dangerous. JJ wasn’t receiving enough oxygen and he was born with blood around his brain.” Emily is also the mother of daughter Eva, 5, who started kindergarten in September. Little Women: Dallas airs Wednesdays at 10pm on Lifetime.
