Actress Leah Remini famously left the Church of Scientology and it was a bitter departure. She has openly discussed her bitter departure from Scientology in her memoir Troublemaker: Surviving Hollywood and Scientology and now on A&E’s new docu-series Leah Remini: Scientology and The Aftermath. In a trailer for the series, Leah Remini somberly reads statements made by the Church of Scientology regarding the show including these two:
- “A program about our religion hosted by Miss Remini is doomed to be a cheap reality TV show by a has been actress now a decade removed from the peak of her career.”
- “She [Remini] needs to move on with her life instead of pathetically exploiting her former religion. Her former friends. And other celebrities for money.”
Remini responds: “When you stop f—king up people’s lives and families I’ll stop too.” Leah Remini: Scientology and The Aftermath airs Tuesdays at 10pm on A&E.
