James Hinchcliffe is the charming young IndyCar Series race car driver on Dancing with the Stars. He describes himself as the “resident class clown” on the track but on the dance floor with his partner Sharna Burgess, there was nothing funny about their performance. The show has seen celeb race car drivers compete before — and not too well — so the judges admitted that they didn’t know what to expect from Hinchcliffe.
DWTS judge Len Goodman spoke first and called the performance “a knockout.” Julianne Hough was impressed with Hinchcliffe’s fluidity too. “We need to keep an eye on you,” she said. Len, Carrie Ann and Bruno gave the performance 8s; Julianne gave it a 7 for a total of 31. Dancing with the Stars airs Mondays at 8pm on ABC.
